How can I control the width of the menu bar?

Symptoms

Submenus are not exactly positioned below top menu items.
User wants to control width of the top bar

Solution
In standard menu mode use "Menu" > "Menu Options" command and adjust "Top Menu Item Width" value.
For fixed menu you need to specify menu bar width explicitly under "Fixed Menu Properties" (Menu Maker 3) or "Menu" > "Menu Options" and "Top Menu Bar Width" (Menu Maker 4).
For relative menus the top bar extends to 100% of available width by default. To limit the length use additional table and define width of the table or the cell where the menu is included. For example:
