Characters appear as boxes

Symptoms

Characters like German ß or French é appear as boxes if used in HTML Item or in an edit field (dynamic text).

Solution

  1. Install Flash Designer 5.0.22.2 or above
  2. Open your project and choose "Movie" > "Frame Rate". Select target player "Flash Player 5"
