National characters in Flash Player 8

Characters like German ß or French é appear as boxes if used in HTML Item or in an edit field (dynamic text).

Flash Player 8 requires unicode characters. To enable edit fields with national characters:

  1. You have to upgrade to Flash Designer 5.0.23.5 or above.
  2. Open your project in Selteco Flash Designer
  3. Double click your edit field.
  4. Check HTML option, click OK
  5. Re-export your Flash file.
